My Thoughts
This week our
thoughts are with the Takawira family on the loss of Maria Takawira
our committee member for the Mutare Chapter who passed away on the
12 of July 2011in Mutare and was buried on the 15th of July 2011
in Masvingo. Maria served the committee since its inception in 2007.
To the family, we convey our deepest condolences and to Maria we
say farewell, famba zvakanaka, May Your Dear Soul Rest in Peace.
Members'
Monthly Meeting
WCoZ successfully
convened this month's members' meeting on the 5th of
July at the WCoZ offices which was attended by 35 member organisations
and individual members. The objective of the meeting was to update
members on the constitutional engagement process the WCoZ legal
and constitutional cluster has been involved in over the past few
weeks.
Other issues
discussed at the meeting were the development of Code of Conduct
for WCoZ, an update on the recently conducted WCoZ organizational
assessment, the Advisory Forum in which clusters were asked to nominate
steering committee members for the forum. The meeting also proposed
to convene a conflict transformation meeting to resolve conflict
in WCoZ amicably.
Young
Women's Forum
The young women's
steering committee met this past week to finalize the Terms of Reference
for the forum which will be shared on the 22nd of July at the WCoZ
Offices to the full forum. The steering committee also oriented
4 new members from WiPSU,
GALZ,
WAG
and FAMWZ
and discussed possible upcoming events for the next month.
Young women
from the movement are invited to attend a lunch meeting on the 22nd
of July 2011 at the WCoZ Offices at 1200hrs. For Further information

WCoZ
Results Based Training
Twenty five
(25) members of WCoZ attended the RBM training at Chengeta from
the 11th - 14th of July 2011. Facilitated by Tsitsi Maradze the
workshop components included: the project cycle, key concepts in
RBM, performance monitoring, results based budgeting, report writing
and proposal development.
Specific objectives
for the training were driven from the rapid needs assessment which
participants responded to prior to the training. As part of the
way forward, participants recommended that the WCoZ Secretariat
should monitor organization and strengthen their capacity in results
based management and convene a refresher course after six months
and ensure that there is a mechanism set for supporting membership.
