WCoZ adopts an intergenerational approach - Last week at glance issue 38
Women's Coalition of Zimbabwe
July 07, 2010

WCoZ convened a members' meeting on the 1st of July 2010 and revealed to members that it was going to launch a Young Women Forum and an WCoZ Advisory Forum for the mature activists. This is designed to bridge the gap between the different generations and WCoZ and encourage participation from all diversities of women. WCoZ launched a Female Directors Forum last year and will strive to create opportunities for networking, sharing and cross pollination of ideas among the three forums. WCoZ will work hard to have the three forums replicated in the four regions of Zimbabwe.

The members' meeting was attended by 35 members (individual and organizations). Members were also informed that follow up activities to Mary Robinson had been delayed by the constitutional outreach process. WCoZ is fundraising to send a delegation to the AU Summit in Uganda, specifically the Gender is My Agenda event in July,

The constitutional outreach process started on the 15th of June 2010 and WCoZ members reported that in some areas the process is going on well. However there are reports of disturbances which include intimidation, and minimal participation of women in some provinces. WCoZ was tasked to develop a monitoring tool that members could use to monitor outreach meetings.
