On 15 November, the South African based One in Nine campaign organised a protest in Cape Town, against violence against women. The demonstration drew participants from the AWID conference being held at the same time. Protestors marched from the Cape Town International Convention Centre to the Western Cape Provincial office where they presented their petition to Western Cape Premier Lee Brown.
