Charity Camfed has been selected by the Financial Times (FT) as its seasonal appeal chartable partner for the second year in a row.

A non-governmental organisation, it is dedicated to girl's education and the eradication of poverty in Africa.

Last year, after being selected for the TF's seasonal appeal, Camfed raised more than £600,000.

Commenting on its selection, Lionel Barber, Editor of the FT, stated: "We are delighted that we are able to work for a second year with Camfed International, after the hugely successful campaign last year."

The generosity of the publication's readers has already ensured that Camfed can support over 2,000 girls to the end of their secondary education, he added.

Between now and mid-January, the FT will publish twice-weekly articles highlighting the charity's work and featuring students who have benefited from its programmes.

Since its founding in 1993 with an outreach in Zimbabwe, Camfed has expanded its assistance to Ghana, Tanzania and Zambia.
