Interim results Women's Survey June 2005
Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA)
June 13, 2005

Question 1. What three problems do you face on a daily basis?

The majority three answers were:

Hunger/Food 81,08%
Money/Poverty 56,76%
Transport 46,39%

The next three were

School fees / Living an uncertain existence - most people used the term 'Murambatsvina' / Healthcare

Question 2. What do you feel is the biggest problem in Zimbabwe today?

We then asked people to choose one and the response was:

Hunger/Food 35,58%
Oppression - Some people used the term 'Murambatsvina 24,32%
Money/Inflation 16,21%

Other responses included: Government / Unemployment / Transport

Question 3. What could be done to change that?

Change the countries leadership 50,9%
Demonstrate 34,23%

Question 4. What in your life is going the best?

The response was: Nothing 98,20%

Only two other responses were recorded:

Church 1,8%
My Self Employment 0.2%

 

Question 5. What in your life would you like to change the most?

The Government 47,29%
The way I am living 46,84%

Question 6. What thing in your life do you look forward to the most?

A better way of living 54,5%
A free Zimbabwe 19,81%
A new Government 11,71%

A snap survey of community women was carried out to determine the level of HOPE in Zimbabwean society? Here is a preview of what people said. All result out of 100%.

Question: What three problems do you face on a daily basis?

FOOD AVAILABILITY - 24 % / SCHOOL FEES - 21% FINANCIAL PROBLEMS 19% / HOUSING - 15%.

Question: What do you feel is the biggest problem in Zimbabwe today?
OPPRESSION -28 % / UNEMPLOYMENT -24% / HUNGER - 16%

Question: What in your life is going the best? 80% said NOTHING!!!

Question: What in your life would you like to change the most?

44 % want to change the COUNTRY’S LEADERSHIP.

20 % want to improve LIFE in general. 16% - want an end to Hatred.
