LIFE for Zimbabweans is like the LIFE of a REFUGEE

Do you agree, if so you are not suffering alone!

The response from the regime is insensitive, irresponsible and corrupt!

Excerpts from the chronicle 21 May 2004 – Headline ‘Gono urges locals to work aboard’

"The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe is now encouraging Zimbabweans to work in the diaspora because of their foreign exchange generation potential, which exceed that of any other economic sector, the governor, Dr Gideon Gono said at a public lecture at the Midlands State University. Dr Gono said he had reversed the vision contained in his December Monetary policy to have the estimated 3,4 million Zimbabweans working outside to return home by 2008. Instead, he said the export of human labour would be encouraged as the brain drain has a lot of potential in terms of foreign exchange generation for the country if the money came through official channels." Gono went on to say "The brain drain is our export. We should encourage Zimbabweans to take up posts outside.

Ask yourself how can they IGNORE the suffering masses?
Where do they find money for trips to beg YOUR family to bankroll their CORRUPTION?
They want YOUR foreign currency but they are planning to DENY you the right to VOTE!

Please RESIST being conned out of your hard earned cash! This money will NOT go towards giving us HOPE but will be used to BUY OUR VOTES. Each one of you abroad - 1,3 million in United Kingdom, 1,5 million in South Africa and those in United States and other countries can help us to DEMAND HOPE.

  • DO NOT help them to buy our votes with FOOD - Imaginary harvests cannot fill our stomachs!
  • DO NOT help them to spend YOUR billions on propaganda. They will only try to convince us that we are not OPPRESSED and that life is worth living!
  • DO NOT help them to spend YOUR billions rigging the March 2005 elections. They will want us to THINK we voted in a LEADERSHIP of our choice!

Ndebele: LINGABANCEDISI ukuthi bathenge amavoti ethu ngokudla, asisoze sisuthe amanga, bakhuluma ngesivuno esingekho. Bazasebenzisa izigidi zenu bedlwanguza abazali benu, njalo batshontshe impumela yokhetho ngo March 2005. Lingasetshenziswa ngabahuqulizi benotho lisegangeni nje kungenxa yabo.

Shona: MUSAVABATSIRE kuti vatenge mavhoti enyu nechikafu. Gowo rokufungidzira ringatigutsa here? Vachaedza kuti tifunge kuti havasi kutidzvinyirira uye kuti hupenyu hwakanaka. Musabatsire vapambi vepfumi kutambisa zviuru nezviuru zvenyu bachibira musarudzo ya March 2005. Murimusango pamusana pavo. Vachada kuti tifunge kuti takasarudza hutungamiriri hwatinoda.

OUR HOPE LIES ….
In our SADC sisters and brothers COMING TO THEIR SENSES and in Zimbabwean refugees practicing the POWER OF ENOUGH - which is peaceful resistance and fighting for their RIGHTS!

We demand minimum standards for the restoration of democratic elections in 2005 and beyond! These principles are contained in the SADC Parliamentary Forum "Election Norms and Standards". We need these principles to give us HOPE that our human rights will once again be respected in Zimbabwe!

  • Restore the Rule of Law – the current plague of corruption is a direct result of this principle being ignored.
  • Restore basic freedoms and rights – we want to be free to mix and mingle, when we want to, where we want to and with whom we want to. Repeal POSA and open up the airwaves for all views to be heard.
  • Establish an independent election commission (IEC)
  • Restore public confidence in the electoral process – Conduct an audit of the voter’s role and allow voter education.
  • Our vote is our secret – we believe this… do you?

WOZA says ZVAKWANA - SOKWANELE - ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
