OSISA is looking
to contract module writers for its Marginalisation and Inequalities
Course as per the attached Terms of Reference for the following
modules under the broader areas:
Conceptual
issues of social exclusion, marginalisation and inequalities
- Conceptual,
Theoretical and Policy Frameworks
- Linking Marginalisation
and Inequalities in Southern Africa
- Estimation
Techniques: Inequalities, Marginalisation and Inclusivity
Domains
of social exclusion, marginalisation and inequalities
- Ethnicity,
Race, Class and Nationality
- Identity
and Gender
- The Marginalisation
of Women in the 21st Century
Combating
social exclusion, marginalisation and inequalities
- The Use
of Legal Instruments and Policies as Tools to Combat Marginalisation,
Social Exclusion and Inequalities
- Countering
Exclusion in an Era of Human Mobility
Advocacy
Isuses
- Social Policy
and the Construction of Social Cohesion
- Working
with Legislative and Law Enforcement Authorities
- Challenging
Attitudes, Behaviours, Social and Economic Structures to go beyond
Laws and Policies
Qualifications
Required
- A minimum
of a Master’s degree in Sociology, Development Studies,
Gender Studies, Law, Economics, Migration Studies. (PhD preferred)
- A sound
understanding of the subject matter;
- Proven track
record of having previously developed modules;
- Preference
will be given to applicants teaching the subject matter.
Interested
applicants are requested to submit their applications including
a cover letter detailing their understanding of the scope of the
assignment and a motivation, curriculum vitae and a sample of at
least one previously written module by 27 November 2013 to the following
