SAT (Southern African AIDS Trust) is pleased to announce two of our latest publications:

• SAT Training and Practice Manuals: 1. How to plan and run a participatory workshop
• SAT Training and Practice Manuals: 2. Mainstreaming Gender in HIV and AIDS work.

The SAT Training and Practice Manuals: 1. How to plan and run a participatory workshop, the first in the series, provides a much needed resource to guide facilitators through the process of training.

The SAT Training and Practice Manuals: 2. Mainstreaming Gender in HIV and AIDS work aims to build knowledge and practical skills among facilitators who train representatives of southern African ASOs, NGOs and CBOs in mainstreaming gender in their HIV and AIDS organisations, policies and programmes.

The Southern African AIDS Trust (SAT) is a regional initiative that supports community responses to HIV and AIDS through in-depth partnerships with community groups in southern Africa and wider networking, skills exchange and lesson sharing throughout the region and internationally. SAT funding and skills building activities support the capacity development of partners and their programming in order to create more effective, sustainable and comprehensive community responses.

Our overall goal is to build the competence of communities to develop and manage effective, appropriate and sustainable responses to the multiple challenges posed by HIV and AIDS.

The SAT Regional Secretariat and Zimbabwe Programme Office are located in Harare, Zimbabwe. We also have smaller decentralized offices in Lilongwe in Malawi, Maputo in Mozambique, Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and Lusaka in Zambia. SAT gained Trust status in 2003.

Please note that we were previously known as the 'Southern African AIDS Training Programme', a project of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) implemented by the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA).
