A delegation integrating Angola's catholic bishops left Luanda today bound for the Zimbabwean capital, Harare, where they will participate, from 11 to 15 of this month, in a triennial plenary of the Southern Africa Bishops Conference.

The chairman of the Episcopal Conference of Angola and Sao Tome (CEAST), the archbishop of Luanda, Dom Damião Franklin, said before leaving the country that the plenary will have as theme "the self-sustainability of our church".

Harare gathers for the second consecutive time the event, due to logistic reasons, according to the prelate, contrarily to the normal character.

The last plenary, three years ago, dealt with poverty, in which the eradication, on his opinion, constitutes a challenge that needs the collaboration of the church with other institutions.
