Dear Sir/Madam

RE: DENIAL OF PERMISSION TO WORK AND STUDY FOR ZIMBABWEAN REFUGEES

  1. Your letter received from our head office today, 25 Jan 07 regarding the above matters bears reference. A copy is attached for your case of reference.
  2. Please be informed that our department is committed to upholding the principles enshrined in Chapter 2 of our Constitution, of amongst others is to treat people equally.
  3. Further after a number of consultations with various stakeholders, the department decided to waive the above prohibition.
  4. The decision was taken in line with the powers of the Standing Committee for Refugee Affairs as embedded in the Refugees Act.
  5. All applicants who were issued with these permits have approached the office either for extension of their permits or otherwise have had this prohibition waived.
  6. Should you have knowledge of any other clients who still possess permits bearing the prohibition, please advise to report at our office for necessary amendments to be effected.

Thanking you in advance for your understanding.
