  • Fresh High Court bail application for Madzore postponed
    Movement for Democratic Change (MDC)
    November 16, 2011

The fresh bail application for Solomon Madzore, the MDC Youth Assembly chairperson was postponed today at the High Court to tomorrow after the State said it was not ready to file its response. Madzore is part of 28 MDC activists who are facing trumped-up charges of murdering a police officer in Glen View, Harare in May.

However, State prosecutor, Edmore Nyazamba said he was not ready with his response on whether to oppose or grant Madzore bail. This forced Justice Hlekani Mwayera to postpone the case to tomorrow.

Some have been granted bail but Madzore and seven other activists are still in remand prison. Scores of senior MDC officials including the Deputy Treasurer-General, Hon. Elton Mangoma attended today's hearing.
