President Tsvangirai to address 2 rallies in Nkayi
Movement
for Democratic Change (MDC)
October 20, 2011
President Tsvangirai and the MDC Real Change team will on Saturday
and Sunday address thousands of party supporters at two rallies
in Nkayi North and South, Matebeleland North province.
The rallies will take
place at Nesigwe Business Centre, Nkayi North on Saturday 22 October
and Ziminya Business Centre in Nkayi South on Sunday 23 October.
President Tsvangirai's
address will touch on various issues including the life and health
of the MDC, the Inclusive
Government and challenges faced; the Constitution-making
process and the position of the roadmap to a free and fair violence.
He will also focus on the issue of state sponsored violence that
is taking place in some parts of the country especially Harare.
Several Real
Change provincial rallies have taken place in most of the provinces
since the start of the year and have been attended by thousands
of party supporters and members. The Nkayi rallies are being held
when Zanu PF thugs have continued to disrupt public hearings on
the Electoral
Amendment Bill that are currently taking place across the country.
In Marondera, Mutare
and Masvingo, Zanu PF hooligans this week disrupted these public
procedures to frustrate efforts to consult people of Zimbabwe on
what they feel should be included in the Electoral Amendment Bill
to allow for the holding of the next free and fair elections. The
MDC condemns these acts of violence in the strongest sense and urges
the police to justify their existence amid the Zanu PF chaos. The
people of Zimbabwe want to live in an environment conducive for
development, upliftment and prosperity.
