  • Madzore's bail hearing fails again at the High Court
    Movement for Democratic Change (MDC)
    October 14, 2011

The High Court bail application by Solomon Madzore, the MDC Youth Assembly chairperson was today postponed again to Monday after the State prosecutor said he was not ready with the submissions.

The matter was postponed on Wednesday to today after the State prosecutor Edmore Nyazamba said he was busy to work on the submissions. However, the investigating officer had not yet completed his investigations and requested that the case be postponed to Monday.

Madzore is facing trumped up charges of murdering a police officer in Glen View, Harare in May. He was arrested at his Waterfalls home two weeks ago and is detained at Chikurubi Maximum Prison.

He is part of 28 MDC members who have been arrested in connection with the murder of the police officer. Eight of them including Madzore are in remand prison while the others were granted bail at the High Court.

Unknown revellers at a nightclub murdered the police officer.
