Youth president remanded in custody

The MDC Youth Assembly President Solomon Madzore has been remanded
in custody to 19 October 2011. He was represented by Gift Mtisi
of the Zimbabwe
Lawyers of Human Rights.
Hundreds of
MDC supporters mainly the youth, civil society organisations and
student union thronged the Harare Rottenrow magistrate courts in
support of their leader. The youths were sending a clear statement
to the police and ZANU PF that their leader is innocent. His arrest
and continued detention is illegal and unconstitutional. He is expected
to appear together with the other MDC activists accused in the false
and controversial Glenview issue.
