Bail hearing for Hon. Mangoma at 3.15 PM

High Court judge, Justice Samuel Kudya is expected to pass judgment on a bail ruling made by MDC Treasurer - General and Energy and Power Development Minister, Hon. Elton Mangoma. Hon. Mangoma is facing trumped - up charges of abusing his office. He was arrested last week Thursday and is committed to Harare Remand Prison. He was indicted for trial at the High Court on 28 March.However, the State is denying that he granted bail saying Hon. Mangoma is a flight risk and is facing serious charges.

Meanwhile, Costin Muguti, Gokwe Kabuyuni MP who was arrested last week in Gokwe was today remanded in custody after the State invoked State invoked the draconian Section 121 sub section 3 of the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act. He had been granted a US$50 bail by a Kwekwe magistrate. Hon. Muguti is facing charges of threatening to assault Chief Samuel Samambwa of Zhombe.

Another MP, Hon. Rodgers Tazviona was arrested last month on the same charges and is in remand prison at Kwekwe Remand Prison. Hon. Tazviona's bail application will be heard at the High Court on 23 March.
