  • Armed men attempt to kidnap MDC official
    Movement for Democratic Change (MDC)
    October 27, 2009

Four armed men today tried to kidnap the MDC's security administrator, Edith Mashayire in central Harare.

Mashayire was on her way to work at the MDC headquarters, Harvest House when four men driving a grey Isuzu twin cab KB300 registration number ABA 8742 suddenly blocked her way at the corner of Inez Terrace and George Silundika.

The four men then produced guns and told her that she was under arrest.

Mashayire started screaming and the armed men started assaulting all over her body with the weapons. Upon noticing that a huge crowd had surrounded them, the men sped off along Inez Terrace Road.
