Movement for Democratic Change (MDC)
October 01, 2009

President Morgan Tsvangirai will this weekend address four MDC 10th Anniversary rallies in Matebeleland North province where thousands of MDC supporters are expected to attend.

On Saturday, President Tsvangirai will address a rally at Manjolo Business Centre in Binga North before moving to Tinde Business Centre, Binga South on the same day for another rally.

On Sunday, he will address a rally at Sipepa Business Centre in Tsholotsho before winding up his itinerary for the weekend with a rally at Tsholotsho Growth Point.

He will be accompanied by the MDC leadership, which includes Vice-President, Hon. Thokozani Khupe, national chairman, Hon. Lovemore Moyo and secretary-general, Hon. Tendai Biti.

President Tsvangirai is expected to touch on a number of issues during his addresses.

These include the performance of the inclusive government formed in February as well as the progress and hurdles faced so far. The rallies will be a platform for the party to reflect on its 10 year journey since its formation.

He will also touch on the Constitution-making process that the MDC is saying should be people-driven.

The rallies, which have been held in most of the country's provinces are being held under the theme; "Celebrating a decade of courage, conviction and leadership."

The main national MDC 10th Anniversary celebratory rally was held at White City Stadium in Bulawayo and it was attended by over 40 000 people.
