MDC
kicks off nationwide feed-back rallies and consultations
Movement
for Democratic Change (MDC)
September
18, 2009
The MDC will this weekend
begin a series of consultations and feed-back rallies with its structures
and the people of Zimbabwe to sound out the nation on the progress
and the challenges facing the inclusive government.
The engagement with the
structures and the people is in line with the resolutions made last
weekend in Bulawayo by the MDC National Council, which resolved
that the party should consult and engage its structures and the
people of Zimbabwe within a specified period to ascertain the sustainability
and worthiness of the inclusive government as a vehicle for real
change and democracy in Zimbabwe.
This weekend, there will
be nine major rallies across the country and 39 ward consultations
in six provinces. Some of the rallies are being held at Kamhunga
Stadium in Kariba, where MDC Treasurer-General, Senator Roy Bennett
is the guest speaker, Gaza Business Centre in Buhera North, where
the national spokesperson, Hon. Nelson Chamisa is expected to give
the keynote address and in Gokwe Gumunyu, that will be addressed
by deputy organising secretary, Senator Morgen Komichi.
The MDC, as
a party of excellence believes in delivering real change to the
people of Zimbabwe. It is only through the full implementation of
the GPA
that a real opportunity of delivering real change to Zimbabweans
is realised.
