  • MDC's Harare province secretary for security abducted
    Movement for Democratic Change (MDC)
    May 15, 2008

Tonderai Ndira, the MDC Harare province's secretary for security was abducted by suspected heavily armed state security agents at his Mabvuku home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

    Ndira's whereabouts are still unknown.

Ten armed men with AK 47 rifles driving a white Toyota Virgo registration number 772 -224 P abducted Ndira from his Mabvuku home just after midnight today They threatened everyone in the house before ransacking the whole place. They then abducted Ndira and took away three Nokia cellphones with them.

Some of the men were wearing black balaclavas.

The abduction of Ndira follows that of Tichanzii Gandanga, the Harare province elections director who was arrested by suspected state security agents. Gandanga was abducted on 18 April and was severely assaulted before he managed to escape and is currently seeking medical treatment.

Throughout the country, the ruling MDC supporters and members have fled their homes and are living in the mountains after opposition Zanu PF thugs unleashed a reign of terror which has left 33 people dead.

The violence is mean to cow the nation after Robert Mugabe was heavily trounced by President Morgan Tsvangirai at the historic elections held on 29 March 2008.
