The
new enemy of the state

A week-s visit
to Mashonaland Central areas of mount Darwin revealed what I can
call first class acts of murder and violence. During the week I
was in Mash Central I managed to visit Mount Darwin - Marymount,
Tabex and Dotito.
I couldn-t believe
what I heard during Joyce Mujuru rally in Mount Darwin Pfura Stadium.
The lady whom we are supposed to copy good manners from was very
bitter that people did not vote for her old man. To her democracy
means only voting for zanu pf and nothing else. This is what she
said and I quote " kana mwana akanganisa anofanorwa kurangwa
ne shamhu yetsarapu pekutanga asi akaramba achikanganisa ngaapondwe,
mwana iyeye hanachekugarira panyika." If a child has made
a mistake he has to be disciplined softly at first but if he makes
the same mistake again he has to be killed for he has no reason
for living in Zimbabwe. To her the people of Zimbabwe had made a
great mistake by voting for a change. Those who did vote for change
has to be killed for they don-t have any reason to be living
in their own Zimbabwe.
Surely the former vice
president has failed to understand that Zimbabwe is not a personal
property of few ZANU PF rulers. I thought she understood that Zimbabwe
is for Zimbabweans and they have got the right to choose the leader
they want in a democratic and peaceful manner they did on 29 March
2008. The former vice president was even bitter with the civil servants
to an extent that she had to say pasi nematicha, pasi nemapurisa
pasi nemanurse. (down with teachers, down with policemen down with
nurses). This was to me the official opening of political massacres
in Mount Darwin and Mashonaland Central from a well-respected lady
on a well attended rally. (Most of the people on that rally were
forced to attend and most of the people had gloomy faces when they
left the stadium.)
The
attacks
From there the war veterans
then went to Mutondwe High School some 17 km from Mount Darwin centre.
To date only 3 teachers have remained whilst most of the teachers
have run away fearing their lives. The school was closed for 2 days
and when they reopened the school there was no business as most
of the teachers were away. In fact all the teachers who ran away
were yet to come back. One wonders whether the school will offer
lesson this term.
At Mary Mount Mission
Hospital, most of the nurses and nurse aid were chased away because
they were accused of voting and supporting the MDC. A visit to the
hospital revealed that they was no attention that were being given
to the patients who were lying all over the place. No details could
be obtained from the people around for they could not talk to strangers.
ZANU PF militia were
transported from Mount Darwin in a lorry to Tabex communal lands
where they inflicted some harm to the people around the Tabex area.
Several homes were burnt and many people were beaten. I couldn-t
get the real facts about what exactly had happened because the war
veterans were still in the area and were still patrolling these
areas. One mother had to cry to me and she was actually bitter with
the MDC because she said they are letting them down after voting
for them.
War veterans in these
areas are going around taking benefits from the farm mechanisation
programme.
