    Zimbabwe Diaspora Forum
    November 29, 2008

With the situation in Zimbabwe deteriorating by the day, Zimbabweans in the diaspora and "concerned citizens" have been urged to "make a lasting contribution" this festive season by sending red new-year cards to Robert Mugabe asking him to quit.

Launching the "Save Zimbabwe, Yes We Will" campaign, Thamsanqa Zhou of the Zimbabwe Diaspora Forum said the target was to send 12 million cards to Mugabe by end of December 2008.

He said: "Zimbabweans have suffered for too long. There comes a time in life when enough is more than enough. I can not sleep peacefully as a Zimbabwean without making my contribution to this cause.

"We have lost our dignity as a people, we have lost our pride as a people and we have allowed this to go on for far too long as a people. Now is the time to be definitive about our actions. Everyone must send a red card to Mugabe at Munhumutapa Building, Samora Machel Avenue, Harare, with the message: "Have a heart and resign for the good of the Zimbabwean people.""

Save Zimbabwe, Yes We Will, campaign has been launched on facebook and anyone can join and post videos and pictures evidencing the brutality of the regime.

Mugabe and opposition leaders Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara have failed to form a government of national unity since signing an agreement in September 2008. The country meanwhile continues to deteriorate. Latest cholera deaths indicate that more people will needlessly die.

Mugabe has ruled Zimbabwe since Zimbabwe got independence in 1980. He is alleged to have ordered the massacre of 20 thousand civilians in the period 1982 - 1987 in what was code named Gukurahundi. He has been widely condemned for widespread human rights abuses and political violence since the 2000 elections.

    What you can do:

Send a RED New Year Card to Robert Mugabe asking him to; "HAVE A HEART & RESIGN FOR THE GOOD OF THE ZIMBABWEAN PEOPLE."

Send a Christmas card to ROBERT MUGABE reminding him that: "THANKS TO YOU, CHOLERA AND THE RUN DOWN ECONOMY, ORDINARY ZIMBABWEANS WON'T AFFORD XMAS THIS YEAR."

    Address to:
    Robert Gabriel Mugabe
    Office of the President
    Munhumutapa Building
    Samora Machel Avenue
    P.O. Box 4240
    Harare
    Zimbabwe.

Our target is 12 million Christmas and new year cards, so please, kindly spread the word.

The earlier the cards are posted the better so they get there on time.

    Thank you for your support.

In the spirit of democracy, liberty and respect for human rights, we will make it if we try.
