Glen Norah Committee vow to take ZESA head-on
Combined Harare
Residents Association (CHRA)
September 26, 2012
Angered by the
continued absence of ZESA officials in local meetings, CHRA members
in Glennora yesterday, the 25th of September resolved to form a
taskforce to meet ZESA officials. The Taskforce will seek an explanation
why ZESA continues to shy away from meeting residents. The ZESA
Group Stakeholder Manager, Mr Fullard Gwasira, had been scheduled
to speak at a CHRA Social Dialogue meeting in Glennora but did not
make it despite having confirmed his participation. This is the
second time that this area has organised meetings and ZESA officials
failed to turn up. A total of 164 residents turned up to meet ZESA
officials to get an explanation of a range of issues including the
newly installed power meters.
Last week CHRA
Program Managers, Loreen Mupasiri and Reuben Akili met the ZESA
officials over their continued absence in residents meetings. The
CHRA local committees have resolved to mobilise taskforces to go
and meet ZESA officials at their head offices in the City centre.
The CHRA General Council will be meeting in the next week and a
march on ZESA is already on the cards.
