RBPRA meets Minister Mangoma
Bulawayo Progressive Residents Association (BPRA)
January 25, 2011

The Coordinator of Bulawayo Progressive Residents Association (BPRA), Mr Rodrick Fayayo met with the Minister of Energy and Power Development, Honourable Elton Mangoma yesterday (Monday 24 January 2011). The purpose of the meeting was to deliberate on the misgivings Bulawayo residents have with the misconduct of the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA). Honourable Mangoma invited the BPRA coordinator to the meeting after BPRA sent him a letter expressing the discontentment Bulawayo residents have with ZESA's exorbitant tariffs, disconnections, rampant load shedding and continued ignoring of the Competition and Tariffs Commission's directive to reduce tariffs by 43 percent.

Following the meeting, Minister Mangoma is set to visit Bulawayo to hear directly from the residents of Bulawayo what their complaints are regarding the conduct of ZESA. The modalities for the meeting are being worked on and all partners will be informed once a date has been set.
