Residents of Mabvuku/Tafara mourn the untimely death of a leader
Combined Harare
Residents Association (CHRA)
June 04, 2010
The residents of Mabvuku/Tafara
and the Combined Harare Association (CHRA) extend their heartfelt
condolences to the Madamombe family and the Constituency of Mabvuku
over the untimely death of Honorable Madamombe who was known to
be a man of the people. Honorable Madamombe won the hearts of the
Mabvuku/Tafara residents when he encouraged the Councilors of Mabvuku
and Tafara to stand by the people when the City of Harare was demanding
payment for water at a time when there were no water supplies to
the area.
The late Honourable Madamombe
has been described by the residents from his constituency as a leader
who was consistent in his service of residents, particularly representing
them on issues of service delivery. Among the noble and great things
that Honorable Madamombe did for his constituency was the replacement
of more than 15 electricity transformers which saw electricity supplies
being resumed in Mabvuku. He also worked with widows in his constituency
and was pivotal in the establishment of a sewing project for needy
women. The late MP also encouraged the involvement of the Corporate
Sector in Community development and established strong bridges between
Lafarge Cement, Sisk and Spar among others to work with residents
in Mabvuku/Tafara on issues of development. The relations that he
cultivated have seen Lafarge Cement and Spar being actively involved
in clean-up campaigns in Mabvuku/Tafara. Residents have said that
Honourable Madamombe has left a gap that will be difficult to fill.
May his humble soul rest
in eternal peace.
