council workers complain over salary delays and safety clothing

Gweru
- Council workers at Gweru City Council have complained
over the delays in accessing salaries which are said to be three
months overdue. They also complained that in addition to the salary
delays many of them were required to conduct their duties without
the necessary safety clothes. They said that they felt Council was
not making an attempt to address their income problems as it was
also failing to avail to them safety clothes.
Victoria
Falls - Environment
Africa is launching a Vic Falls green fund meant to keep the
town clean and preserve its World Heritage sight status. The Victoria
Falls branch is going to be coordinating a number of activities
that will involve the municipality, ward councilors tourism and
hospitality players as well as the general public ahead of the 2010
World Cup in June.

Committee has resolved that it should conduct public hearings
for Public Hearings on Public

- The Bulawayo
Agenda Gender and Development Department will be hosting its 1st
focus group meeting at the Democracy Centre on Friday 12 February
at 2pm. The theme of the meeting is Promoting Women's Participation
in the Constitution Making Process.
- The Prime
Minister and the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's
office will be touring Matabeleland North and South this weekend
to assess food security in the regions.
