The Combined Harare Residents Association (CHRA)
would like to congratulate ZADHR
Chairperson, Dr. Douglas Gwatidzo on his recognition as the winner
of the Jonathan Mann Award for Health and Human Rights.
The
winning of the Award by Dr. Gwatidzo is an act of clear acknowledgement
and appreciation of the tremendous work that ZADHR has done to defend
human rights and freedom from torture in Zimbabwe. CHRA commends
the invaluable and unwavering support that ZADHR gave to victims
of political violence (some of whom were CHRA members) during the
pre and post election period by offering free medical services.
ZADHR should also be commended for going beyond giving free medical
services to document incidences of human rights abuses and exposing
perpetrators; a service that went a long way in helping victims
of political violence.
