Objection letter to the sale of City property to Makwavarara
Combined Harare Residents Association (CHRA)
August 23, 2006

The Acting Town Clerk Town House Harare

Dear Sir

Re: OBJECTION TO THE SALE OF NIGEL'S LANE HIGHLANDS PROPERTY TO SEKESAI MAKWAVARARA

I am Mrs/Mrs/Ms and I reside at House No. ________________________________________________Harare.
As you will appreciate I am a resident and rate payer in the City of Harare. I wish to put on record, as I hereby do, my objection to the proposed sale of the said property to Sekesai Makwavarara for the following reasons.

1. I am aware that Sekesai Makwavarara has never been a "Sitting Tenant" of the property. My understanding is that a Mr and Mrs Mlambo are the sitting tenants.

2. I also object to the property being sold to Ms Makwavarara for an amount of $13.5bn when all the surrounding property values are in excess of $25bn.

3. The people made homeless under Operation Murambatsvina have faced problems in securing accommodation. The sale of the said property must be placed at the highest market value to raise funds for the construction of temporary shelter for the affected people.

Yours Faithfully
