The fascist attacks upon Zimbabwean citizens continued over the weekend. The photos do not give any sense of the scale of destruction but it is very difficult to get decent photos.

Please lobby whoever and wherever you can to get regional bodies and civic leaders to speak out and condemn this latest brutality by a rogue regime bent on the destruction of our country.

While court action is underway, the regime has demonstrated time and time again that it has nothing but contempt for the rule of law. Our only hope is that through international condemnation that they may be "persuaded" to suspend or slowdown the attacks.

Since the mugabe regime has embarked on a triumphalist path after stealing another election, there is no possibility of meaningful dialogue with the regime. This leaves Zimbabweans with few choices:

• To acquiesce and submit to continuing impoverishment and repression,
• To flee the country and seek refuge in neighbouring countries or overseas
• To fight back, with sticks and stones at present but no doubt with other weapons and with increasing violence

There is no room left for "voices of reason". We have exhausted the parliamentary process and the legal process while our appeals to regional leaders especially Mbeki have only made us realize that he and other regional leaders are actively supportive allies of mugabe and his agenda. Those who believe that this regime will "come to its senses" are ignorant and dangerously naive.
