Association Executive called in for questioning http://www.chra.co.zw/viewinfo.cfm?id=73&linkid=3&siteid=1 The Chairperson for Tafara Residents Association, Mr. T.V. Madeko, and his Secretary, Mr. J. Rose, were today called in for questioning by the ZRP in connection with the demonstration which took place at Tafara District Office on Tuesday. The two were supposed to meet the Police at Harare Central Police Station but the venue was later changed for Mabvuku Police Station, 1400hrs. We will update you on the outcome of the interview. The Association can confirm that seven residents in Tafara have so far been arrested in connection with the demonstration. In a related development, residents in Mabvuku today took to the District office in protest over rates increase and water shortages affecting the township. Residents gathered at the District office as early as 0930am and police had to be called in to quel the crowds. Two people were arrested. Residents at the demonstration reported that police did not fire tear gas but used baton sticks to disperse the crowds.
