Electoral (Presidential Election) Notice, 2002

THE Registrar-General of Elections, in terms of subsection (1) of section 94 of the Electoral Act [Chapter2:01], hereby publishes the following notice:—

Title

1. This notice may be cited as the Electoral (Presidential Election) Notice, 2002.

Nomination court for Presidential election

2. A nomination court shall sit in Mashonganyika Building, Samora Machel Avenue, Harare, on Thursday the 31st January, 2002, commencing at 10 o’clock in the morning for the purpose of receiving nominations of candidates for election to the office of President.

Polling days in Presidential election

3. A poll shall be taken on Saturday and Sunday the 9th and 10th March, 2002, for the purpose of electing a person to the office of President, if a poll becomes necessary in terms of subsection (2) of section 101 of the Act.

Closing of voters rolls for Presidential Election

4. Voters rolls shall be regarded as closed with effect from the 10th January, 2002, for the purpose of accepting the registration of voters who may vote at the election of a President.
