RIP
VP Nkomo
We have lost
a real revolutionary, fighter for freedom, friend of the people
and lover of children. He will be dearly missed by all of us. I
want to express on behalf of government, my party Zanu PF and the
Cabinet our sincerest condolences to the family, his relatives and
all his friends. - President Mugabe
As a party we
are convinced that the pursuit of peace and justice will be the
greatest gift we can ever give in honor of John Landa Nkomo - MDC
President Welshman Ncube
VP Nkomo is
an eminent nationalist, a liberation war icon and a committed patriot
who will be sadly missed by all Zimbabweans - PM Tsvangirai
Whether as a
teacher, a politician, an advocate for Zimbabwe’s independence,
or as a public servant, Vice President Nkomo was a patriot who dedicated
his life to Zimbabwe’s sovereignty and prosperity. As a leader
of PF ZAPU and ZANU-PF, Mr. Nkomo played an important role in shaping
the course of Zimbabwean history. May he rest in peace. - US Embassy
Harare
