His Excellency the President, in terms of section 2 of the Presidential
Powers (Temporary Measures) Act [Chapter 10:20], hereby makes the
following regulations:
Title
1. These regulations may be cited as the Presidential Powers (Temporary
Measures) (Amendment of Electoral Act) (No. 2) Regulations, 2008.
Amendment of section 55 of Cap. 2:13
2. Section 55 ("Conduct of poll") of the Electoral Act
[Chapter 2:13] (No. 25 of 2004) is amended in subsection (2)(b)
by the insertion of the following subparagraph after subparagraph
(iii)—
"(iiia)
police officers on duty;. and".
Amendment
of section 59 of Cap. 2:13
3. Section 59 ("Voting by illiterate voters")
(1) of the Electoral Act [Chapter 2:13] (No. 25 of 2004) by the
insertion after "two other electoral officers or employees
of the Commission" of "and a police officer on duty".
Amendment
of section 60 of Cap. 2:13
4. Section 60 ("Voting by physically incapacitated
voters") (1) of the Electoral Act [Chapter 2:13] (No. 25 of
2004) by the insertion after "two other electoral officers
or employees of the Commission" of "and a police officer
on duty".
