IT is hereby
notified that the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social
Welfare, in terms of section 17 of the Labour Act [Chapter 28:01],
has made the following regulations:-
1. These regulations
may be cited as the Labour (Terminal Benefits and Entitlements of
Agriculture Employees affected by Compulsory Acquisition) (Amendment)
Regulations, 2006 (No. 1).
2. Section
3 ("Terminal benefits and Entitlements of Agriculture Employees
affected by Compulsory Acquisition") (1) of the Labour
(Terminal Benefits and Entitlements of Agriculture Employees affected
by Compulsory Acquisition) Regulations, 2002, published in Statutory
Instrument 6 of 2002 (hereinafter called the "principal regulations"),
is amended-
(a) in paragraph
(a) by the deletion of "prior to the date of termination
of his employment" and the substitution of "as shall
be calculated using the wage rate at the time whjen the employer's
property was evaluated by the Ministry of Lands";
(b) in paragraph (c) by the insertion after "employer"
of "as shall be calculated using the wage rate at the time
when the employer's property was evaluated by the Ministry of
Lands";
(c) in paragraph (d) by the deletion of "five thousand dollars"
and the substitution of "one month's pay".
