THE Judicial
Services Bill, which seeks to remove magistrates and their supporting
staff from the authority of the Public Service Commission and place
them under the commission that certifies judges, yesterday sailed
through the House of Assembly with amendments.
The proposed
legislation now awaits transmission to the Senate for consideration.
Under the Bill,
magistrates and their supporting staff will be removed from the
Public Service Commission to the Judicial Service Commission.
The commission
is constituted in terms of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.
