Statutory Instrument 171 of 1987 - Welfare Organizations (Exclusion of Bodies, Associations and Institutions) (Amendment) Regulations, 1989 (No. 1)

IT is hereby notified that the Minister of Labour, Manpower Planning and Social Welfare has, in terms of section 26 of the Welfare Organizations Act [Chapter 93], made the following regulations:-

1. These regulations may be cited as the Welfare Organizations (Exclusion of Bodies. Associations and Institutions) Regulations. 1987.

2. The bodies associations and institutions specified in the First Schedule are excluded from the definition of "Welfare Organization" contained in section 2 of the Act.

3. The regulations specified in the Second Schedule are repealed.

FIRST SCHEDULE (Section 2) EXCLUDED ORGANIZATIONS

1 Any body, association or institution known as the Mayor's Christmas Cheer Fund and established by the Mayor of a City or Municipality.

2. Any body, association or institution known as a parent-teacher association relating to a Government School .and recognized by the Minister of Education in terms of section 51 of the Education Act, 1979.

3. Any body, association or institution known as a parent-teacher association relating to a non-government school .and recognized by the Minister of Education.

4. Any body, association or institution known as an Ex-Students Association or Old Boys or Old Girls Association relating to a Government or Non-Government School .and recognized by the Minister of Education.

5. Any body association or institution established within the internal structure of the Zimbabwe Republic Police, and including the Zimbabwe Republic Police Association, and the Zimbabwe Republic Police Provident Fund.

6. Any body. association or institution established within the internal structure of the Zimbabwe National Army and including the Army Welfare Fund.

7.Any body, association or established within the internal structure of the Air Force of Zimbabwe and including the Air Force Welfare Fund
