Legalbrief
Africa
June 28, 2003
We would like to introduce
you to an innovative electronic news service that has been launched under
the auspices of the International Bar Association (IBA), Legalbrief
Africa. The news service exists to build an information and support
network for jurists within Africa and to raise worldwide awareness of
African legal issues.
Legalbrief
Africa contains a selection of legal news items drawn from African
and international publications ranging from, amongst others, the Mail
& Guardian in Johannesburg, the Financial Gazette in Harare, the East
African in Kenya, to the Washington Post and New York Times, the Financial
Times and The Economist in London, The Times of India and the Sydney Morning
Herald. Our researchers also draw information from law journals and other
papers published by academics and scholars on legal debates and developments
across the continent and the rest of the world.
The newsletter is
delivered directly to individuals through e-mail with each newsletter
containing executive summaries with a URL that takes the reader directly
to the source of the article. In addition the abstracts are stored on
the Legalbrief website at http://www.legalbrief.co.za
with an expanding searchable database of legal news.
You can confirm your
free subscription by mailing me back with the subject ‘Subscribe’ and
you are able to register your colleagues for this service by e-mailing
us their email addresses or getting them to contact us.
Best Wishes,
Tapera Kapuya
