Wellington Chibebe waits for Investigating Officer
Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU)
July 19, 2007

ZCTU Secretary General Cde Wellington Chibebe reported to the Law and Order section of the police this morning. He was summoned yesterday in connection with utterances that he allegedly made at May Day commemorations this year. The police say the utterances were meant to push for regime change.

When he got there he was told that the Investigating Officer had not yet arrived. The reason - he is coming from Chivhu a town that is about 132 km from Harare.

No reasons were given for an Investigator to come from outside Harare when the alleged utterances were made in Harare. We are now awaiting a call from the Police once the "Investigator" arrives.
