ZCTU visitor denied entry into Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU)
May 17, 2006

The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) informs you that Nina Mjoberg a representative of LO Norway was denied entry into Zimbabwe this morning at the Harare International Airport.

This follows another deportation of Alice Siame from Zambia a consultant. Both Nina and Alice were coming to Zimbabwe to attend the ZCTU Congress, which is scheduled for 19-20 May 2006.

The ZCTU is still waiting for written confirmation from the Minister of labour who had agreed in principle that no international guests will be denied entry into Zimbabwe.

The ZCTU would also urge all internartional visitors intending to come to Zimbabwe to firsrt confirm with thge ZCTU whether the Minister has honoured his assurance in writing.

Meanwhile the ZCTU is seeking legal recourse on the matter.
