ZCTU Dutch consultants deported
Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU)
March 21, 2006

The ZCTU informs you that the two consultants who were detained yesterday at the Harare International Airport were eventually deported the same day.

The two, Bagani Ngeleza and Jeff Handmaker, were coming to Zimbabwe to evaluate a ZCTU run programme on behalf of the FNV.

No reasons were given for their deportation.

This is the second deportation in a month after Pat Horn from Street Net in South Africa was denied entry into Zimbabwe on 4 March 2006 when she was coming to faciliate during the ZCTU Silver Jubilee School.

The ZCTU is very embarassed by the stance of the immigration to who have made sure no one who visits ZCTU gets into Zimbabwe. This is a flagrant right to the freedom of Association and movement which government pretends to subscribe to.
