ZCTU Protest Update - 11:00 am

The ZCTU informs you that six members of the ZCTU General Council have been arrested by the polic e in Harare.

The General Council was having a meeting at a city hotel to review the responses from the Police about the National Protest when the riot police stormed the meeting. Other leaders managed to evade the raid but the following were picked up and taken to the police station

Langton Mugeji
Thabitha Khumalo
Phibion Chenyika
Tecla Masamba
George Nkiwane
Raymond Majongwe
Innocent Sibanda
Mankawuzane

The other ZCTU leaders have resolved to carry on with the protest.
