Leadership
Training Program

An established NGO is introducing a One year part-time fully funded
Leadership Training Program through its Leadership Academy; the
quest for this academy is to add value to different sectors especially
during this transitional phase and beyond, to enhance democratic
consolidation, economic recovery and social reconstruction. The
content areas of the program are linked to one of their objectives
- to produce outstanding young leaders capable of leading
and influencing different sectors hence our course outline will
develop young leaders to lead and capacitate them to translate their
ideas into action for the enhancement of their communities and beyond.
Classes will
be in two-week blocks that will be after every two- three months.
The program will start in October 2009 and end in October 2010.
What we are
looking for:
- Candidates
already in leadership positions where they can practice the learning,
except a few who may be unemployed but still demonstrating leadership
competencies
- Candidates
with demonstrable leadership potential
- A tertiary
qualification is also required
- Age is between
21-30
Candidates will
be required to certify their intention to commit to attendance of
all Leadership Academy activities within a 12-month period (part
time).
Requirements
1. A short resume
summarizing where you have practiced leadership and your achievements.
This should be traceable.
2. A letter
of recommendation from a person who has either studied you at some
point, not only in a working environment but even in other environmental
settings. Their contact details should also be provided.
3. A guided
1-page motivational letter citing what your personal vision, mission
and goals are, also describe what change you foresee or envision
in your life and how you think this leadership development program
can help.

Rhodes
Scholarships Zimbabwe
Deadline: 14 August 2009
The Rhodes
Trustees offer two scholarships for the year 2009 tenable at Oxford
University from October 2010. The Scholarships may be held for three
years but awards are made for two years in the first instance. A
Rhodes Scholar will receive a monthly stipend of British Pounds
958 over the duration of his/her course as a personal allowance
in addition to his/her university and college fees. Tenure of other
awards in conjunction with a Rhodes Scholarship is not permitted
without prior consultation with the Secretary of the Trust.
Candidates:
a) Must
be residents of Zimbabwe with at least five years' residence
in the last ten years;
b) Must
be between the ages of 19 and 25 at the 1st October 2010;
c) Must
have achieved academic standing sufficiently advanced to ensure
completion of a Bachelor's degree before the 1st October 2010.

Receptionist
/ Secretary - Zimbabwe Women Resource Centre and Network (ZWRCN)

The Zimbabwe Women Resource Centre and Network (ZWRCN)is seeking
a competent, experienced and self motivated individual for the position
of Receptionist/Secretary.
ZWRCN is an
information-based organization with a focus on research, collection,
analysis, processing and dissemination of information on gender
and development. The organization's strategic interventions
aim to empower women, strengthen inter-organizational networking
of gender and development agencies and promote the women's
movement in Zimbabwe. ZWRCN's programmes are aimed at reducing
gender inequalities and promote gender sensitive national policies
and programmes for the improvement of the welfare of women and girls
in Zimbabwe.
The following
are the Key Performance Areas for Receptionist/Secretary:-
- Organising
and professionally managing the front desk;
- Effective
managing telephonic communication, including the switchboard system
as assigned;
- Provision
of secretarial services to the Executive Director and to programs
as and when necessary;
- Managing
incoming and outgoing mail;
- Undertaking
specific administration duties as assigned including; assisting
the Executive Director with filing and also assisting the Admin
Officer with filing for the central filing system.
Education &
Work Experience
- 5 "O"
Levels including English Maths/Accounts
- Diploma
in Secretarial Studies, a receptionist course is an added advantage
- High word
processing speed and knowledge of common office software packages
including spreadsheets
- At least
three years experience in a similar position
