Describe
yourself in five words?
An energetic split personality creative
What's
the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Never eat your bread in the loo. That was from my father when I
was about five. On the face of it, it's a simple bit of advice,
but it has many parallel applications in life
What's
the most ridiculous thing you've ever done?
Eating my bread in the loo- metaphorically speaking. It's complicated.
Let's leave it at that
What
is your most treasured possession?
My camera, in close competition with my laptop
What
do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Standing in a bread queue hoping that the price doesn't go up by
the time you get to the till. No, actually it's waiting in a fuel
queue hoping that the electricity doesn't go off or the petrol run
out. Am I allowed three? Cause I have another one. My lowest depth
of recent misery was waiting to watch Kirsty swim the 200m and then
to have the power backstroke out of the grid just before the race
started
Do you
have any strange hobbies?
OHD (Odd Hour Dancing). When I'm really stressed I like to wake
up in the wee hours of the morning put on some great dance music
and invent new dances. I also enjoy mixing unlikely foods to make
original sandwiches. My current two favourites are polony and covo
sandwiches along with a cheese and honey combo
What
do you dislike most about your appearance?
The fact that I wear spectacles. I was teased about it when I was
a kid so I still have some emotional baggage attached to that. The
other challenges of living in Zim help put this problem into perspective
though
What
is your greatest extravagance?
I'm a sucker for tech gadgets and tech magazines. I will go hungry
to buy a copy of Net Magazine
What
have you got in your fridge?
A few drops of Amarula Cream that I'm saving for a really bad day
and boiled tap water
What
is your greatest fear?
Waking up one day and finding that the Internet is gone
What
have you got in your pockets right now?
Some pieces of paper with notes reminding me of what I want to do
today. A wallet. A Zim 50 cent coin that I use to remind me to be
thankful
What
is your favourite journey?
Driving to Nyanga. There is very little traffic and the terrain
is awesome. The journey to my computer each morning is also surprisingly
pleasurable
Who
are your heroes in real life?
- My wife
who has the amazing ability to make friends in seconds with total
strangers and who has such a giving heart
- Zimbabweans
who have stayed despite everything and have the stamina to get
up each morning and live
- Zimbabweans
who have left and work three shifts a day so they can send money
home
When
and where were you happiest?
When I was a kid running around in Bulawayo making wire cars
What's
your biggest vice?
I'm addicted to being on the Internet. When I'm alone, I can forget
to eat and bath just so I can get some extra time online
What
were you like at school?
Bright eyed
What are you doing next?
Just about to launch www.zimbablog.com
