ZLHR mourns Mamvura
Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR)

July 05, 2012

Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) is deeply saddened to learn of the untimely death of Mr. Godfrey Mamvura, our long-standing member, who passed away on 4th July 2012 in Harare.

His passing is a great loss, not only to the Mamvura family and relatives, but also to the legal profession as a whole.

Godfrey, a B.L. (Hons) LL.B. graduate from the University of Zimbabwe and a partner at Scanlen & Holderness, who had extensive experience in criminal and civil litigation, was a rare individual who always executed his legal duties with professionalism and compassion.

Those who had the honour to meet Godfrey and share with him know very well his stature, his dedication to the profession, and to the human rights cause of his country. His contribution will be remembered and always appreciated.

To the Mamvura family, partners and staff at Scanlen & Holderness, and his friends and colleagues, ZLHR offers its most sincere condolences. We mourn with you during this difficult period.

May God give Godfrey eternal rest and May His Soul Rest In Peace.
