arrest Madhuku over POSA

14 April 2011 arrested
Claris Madhuku, the director of Platform for Youth Development Trust
(PYD) for allegedly contravening the Public
Order and Security Act (POSA) after he convened a meeting in
Chipinge, Manicaland Province to converse about the implementation
and performance of the Global
Political Agreement (GPA).
Police arrested
Madhuku when he was facilitating a meeting at the United Church
of Christ in Zimbabwe (UCCZ) in Rimbi area in Chipinge South which
was organized by (PYD).
Madhuku was
detained at Chisumbanje Police Station, where he was charged with
contravening Section 25 (1) (b) of POSA for allegedly convening
a meeting without receiving clearance from the regulatory authority.
The PYD director will spend the night in police detention.
