    March 11, 2011

Comrades today we attended the hearing for the bail application at the High Court Harare - Court 'O' before Justice Susan Mavangira. As usual our very own comrades were represented by Alec Muchadehama and the state was represented prosecutor Edmore Nyazamba.

The prosecutor stood up only to seek for a postponement to Wednesday, March 16 citing that he had not filed his response because he was 'tied up yesterday' and that the issued raised by Muchadehama in the bail application needed investigation for example the connections of the accused abroad and their residential addresses, properties and passports.

Mr Muchadehama vehemently opposed such postponement and argued that the accused were arrested on 19 February and are still in custody, the same prosecutor was dealing with the matter since it started and that there was no need for such lengthy period to investigate and suggested that since there was no response from the state, the matter be postponed to Monday 14 March instead of Wednesday.

The prosecutor insisted on Wednesday and made an undertaking that he will file his response on Tuesday 15 and the hearing be on 16 March.

Justice Mavangira upheld the arguments of the prosecutor and the matter was so postponed to 16 March 2011 for the hearing of the Bail Application.
