Outreach
meetings are set to resume in Harare this Friday, 8 October.
32 areas have
been identified which will be revisited between Friday and Saturday.
From the 82 areas that were scheduled for meetings, 60 were recorded
as successful.
COPAC co-chair
Honourable Paul Mangwana has confirmed the development. He stated
that the meetings that will be conducted in Harare are only being
done in areas that encountered challenges. COPAC will also work
with the police during this two day period to ensure that there
is peace and order during the meetings. Mangwana, however, called
on political leaders, especially liaison committees of senior party
officials, to convey a message of non-violence to the nation.
Meanwhile, Co-Chair
Douglas Mwonzora last week reported that COPAC has put in place
some measures that will ensure public consultation meetings run
smoothly in Harare and others that deal with perpetrators of violence.
He said that the three parties will be responsible for the behaviour
of their supporters and have been encouraged to ensure that violence
does not occur.
Outreach meetings
in other provinces such as Matabeleland North and Mashonaland Central
are expected to round up this week, while some provinces like Mashonaland
West, Masvingo and Mashonaland East have already finished their
public consultation process.
