High participation
have been recorded in most of the meetings held in Mutoko so far,
with one of the lowest recorded at 279 at Mukarakate Primary on
Friday 20 August. On Saturday Waterloo Primary School registered
1018 participants. This high attendance has been attributed to effective
mobilization by both COPAC and the Provincial and District Administrators
responsible for the task. Even in Murehwa in the same province,
1400 people attended a meeting at Chitowa Clinic. However, trucks
were seen dropping off people at the meeting point. These transported
people are allege3d not to be residents from the area, but hired
individuals to parrot and support political bias.
From the meeting
held on Saturday at Waterloo, the people voted for no separation
of powers, whereby the elected president should be in charge of
all uniformed security forces, Parliament and other influential
posts.
