  • Zimbabwe human rights activist warns new President of Zimbabwe

The new president of Zimbabwe, Morgan Tsvangirai must be careful about entering into unity with the criminal Zanu PF government of Robert Mugabe. Tsvangarai won 27 March 2008 presidential elections therefore he should have control of the country, Army and Police. If SA President, Thabo Mbeki's deal does not give Tsvangirai executive powers or control of key areas such as the army and police then the MDC should not accept it.

Zanu PF has not surrendered they are still fighting on for power. Most likely they have plans to assassinate Tsvangirai after entering into unity government. Tsvangirai has survived so many assassination attempts. Zanu PF leaders are not even repentant of this. There is no evidence that they have changed their wicked intentions. If the MDC leader is assassinated then the struggle against their wicked control of the country will have suffered serious setbacks. Just like in Angola, the murder of UNITA leader, Jonas Savimbi meant the death of an effective opposition and success of the wicked, communist MPLA.

Zanu PF can use even cunning means such as plane crush or road accidents just to murder Tsvangirai. Unity with Mugabe will be a serious error by the opposition MDC. It will even be fatal if that unity does not give Tsvangirai control of the Army and Police.

Zimbabwe has been characterised by Zanu PF state corruption, rape of thousands of opposition women, murder, abduction, and torture. All these capital offenses need to be punished for. The victims rejoice and recover when they are avenged. This will prove difficult and impossible if Zanu pf is still in control. Since it was responsible for sending its partisans, police, army, CIO, war vets and militias to destroy opposition supporters. Zimbabwe need justice not the so-called truth and reconciliation commission that will seek to pardon Zanu PF rapists, kidnappers and murderers. It must be known by all that criminals are villains who should be punished accordingly and be effectively restrained.

Refusal to punish criminals is not mercy or love but hatred of one's neighbor especially the victim. Justice must be done, so that God may be glorified and criminals and potential criminals live in fear. Zanu PF leaders are corrupt all these years have been embezzling public funds. If there are still in power or control how can Zimbabwe get rid of massive corruption?

Zimbabwe Anglican Bishop of Harare, Sebastian Bakare warned about Mugabe's intentions in unity government. In his address to the Lambeth Conference in UK, the Bishop recalled that in December 1987, Mugabe signed a Memorandum of understanding with the then opposition leader, the late Dr. Joshua Nkomo of ZAPU. "It ended up with Mugabe's party swallowing the other party (ZAPU) and Mugabe is still in power today," said Bakare.

Bishop Bakare went on to say, "l want to believe that they on the opposition side are aware of that pact and aware that Mugabe is not there just to hand in power."

The struggle continues, Zimbabwe must realise justice. Zimbabwe must not settle for less. Freedom and true liberation is around the corner, we need more wisdom and sacrifice. Think deeply about this. Take action for true freedom and liberation of Zimbabwe. Help the suffering and starving people of Zimbabwe.
