    The photographs below show the charred remains of farm workers homes on Muniya Farm. Muniya Panganai, a war veteran who seized the farm in 2006 from the former white owner, began evictions on April 15, 2008 as "punishment" because the area had voted overwhelmingly for MDC. The acting Officer in Charge of the Mutare Police, Mr. Goronga, supervised the evictions at gunpoint.

    Wanton distruction of homes and property on Muniya (formerly Envant) Farm.

    Many of the evicted farm workers are sleeping in the open, surrounded by whatever belongings they were able to take out with them. There are 106 children under the age of 12 and 113 adults, many of whom are elderly. They share a single toilet and have limited access to running water.
