The few sets of results
gleaned so far from a number of polling stations and ward command
centres, seem to indicate that Morgan Tsvangirayi, leader of the
main formation of the splintered opposition Movement for Democratic
Change (MDC) is garnering quite a considerable percentage of the
votes. In the areas analysed by the organisation as of 10:00 a.m.
on Sunday 30 March, Tsvangirayi was leading with a comfortable average
of about 80%, followed by Simba Makoni who surprisingly romped ahead
of President Robert Mugabe.
The following
were some of the results in the Presidential race had been verified

As results keep
trickling in, it appears that Mr. Tsvangirayi seems to be enjoying
the lion's share of the votes cast in the major urban centres
as well as smaller towns.
